It's the LAST stop on the road to WrestleMania, #dearlisteners. Our heroes Daryn and Perry are especially excited this week to talk to all of YOU about WrestleMania week, including the granddaddy of 'em all, Takeover, the WWE Hall of Fame and so much more! And then there is the matter of John Oliver's gauntlet-throwing! Oliver, from HBO's "Last Week Tonight" broke the internet by being the latest in a long-line of whistle-blowers who pointed out the shady business dealings of one Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Daryn and Perry are going to discuss everything right and everything wrong about Oliver's tirade against the industry and his plea to the wrestling fans. Nevertheless, the boys are focused on the action-packed cards for the weekend, with about 15 titles being defended just between WWE's 2 shows!! A women's winner-take-all bout is set to headline WrestleMania. The Universal Championship is rumored to "move on," as it were, and what about Kofi Kingston? We know Aleister Black and Ricochet are doing double-duty. We know there is a slew of wrestlers going into the Hall of Fame for the 2nd time. And we DON'T know what's going on with NO matches scheduled for John Cena, The Undertaker, Kevin Owens or Dolph Ziggler. With all the spotlights and microscopes of an entire industry converged on the capital of Planet Earth, it is a damn exciting week to be a fan of professional wrestling. Following the briefest of hiatuses, our heroes Daryn and Perry are back with all the #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews that you #dearlisteners crave! The boys took the "Fastlane" last week, and they are here to tell you all about it. Out of the chutes and headlong for WrestleMania "Statue of Liberty Head," the boys go back to the drawing board on what to call their lead-up segment to the "Grandaddy of them All." Perry is raising and roping broncos, trying to call the thing the "WrestleMania Round-Up," while Daryn is whitening his knuckles and tightening his buckles for a high-speed "WrestleMania Drive-By!" It's the disagreement that will seemingly never have an end... nevertheless the boys DO talk about all the brouhaha and ballyhoo leading up to the "Showcase of the Immortals." There's talk of Harlem Heat's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, and maybe, just maybe, Booker T will drop by to give his 2 cents on this prestigious distinction! In addition, our heroes start to discuss the card, match by match, as the smoke is beginning to clear and the match-ups are starting to coalesce before our very eyes. Who will be Kurt Angle's last opponent ever!? Where will John Cena factor in? Has anyone seen or heard from The Undertaker!? Our heroes Daryn and Perry pull into the Fastlane on this week's episode as WWE dictates the new year's wrestling in all automobile-metaphors! The boys go head-to-head, picking winners for the WWE Network special (and boy! it's tag-team heavy). The discussions are broad and deep, as it's not just Fastlane that we are all looking at, but WrestleMania 35 on the near horizon. But it's not just this weekend's wrestling that is being chatted about either! The boys bid a farewell to the late King Kong Bundy, the giant embodiment of pro-wrestling that passed away just this week. And what news of Jim Ross? It turns out he will be leaving WWE and heading to AEW. A multi-year contract? Daryn and Perry have a lot to say about "multi-year guarantees" from brand new companies. And the boys drop the knowledge of Tomasso Ciampa's neck-fusion surgery. How long will he be out? How do you deal with a heel who is injured without turning them into a babyface? And what of his NXT Championship!? We are on the Fastlane to New York City (New Jersey?) and need healthy champions for that weekend of weekends! Oh! Did you hear? It's going to take Mass Transit to get all these people in and out of the WWE! (and I don't mean that poor kid that New Jack busted open... and I don't mean Vicious Vic Grimes) We are close to WrestleMania and there are an inordinate number of people on their way out of the "E." Our heroes Daryn and Perry discuss who has been fired, release, etc. They will also discuss a recent hiring, some shifting around of talent and more! And what about The Honky Tonk Man!? Well, who better than the hip-swiveling "greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time" to take us to the HOF!? The boys discuss the recent announcement of Honky's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame coming up the weekend of Wrestlemania XXXV! But that's not all either! The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic brackets have been announced, and there is a lot of talent in this tournament! Hulk Hogan killed his career in the FESTibule, and it was a total DIY job, even though he never jobs, brother! But will Chris Hemsworth be a Perfect 10 playing the part of the Hulkster for Netflix?
