I wanna punk rock all night, and FEST Wrestling every day! On this episode, our heroes Daryn and Perry take a trip to Gainesville, Florida to bask in the excellence of FEST Wrestling's "Bring Your Mom" indy supershow! This stacked card brought us round infinitum in the battle between Effy and Leon Scott as they each took a team to war! Also in action was new CZW World Champion Lio Rush, taking on Matt Cross. Newcomers to FEST abounded too with appearances from The Ugly Ducklings, Roscoe Eat Lisa, Timmy Lou Retton, Priscilla Kelly and more! Lest we forget, King of Dong Style, Joey Ryan, had a little treat for all the moms in attendance. And in your main event, FEST Wrestling Champion and friend of The Whole Ref'n Show, Su Yung defended her belt against Sami Callihan! But before the boys break down every bitchin moment of this stellar wrestling event, they're going to discuss the ins and outs of the "Wrestling Civil War" that erupted on Twitter this week. You will hear all the direct quotes from the primary players, and Daryn and Perry give their thoughts as well. And also in this jam-packed episode of wrestletalk special sauce, the boys go Head-to-Head with predictions for a big Windy City weekend for the WWE. Injuries abound on Vinnie Mac's Monopoly board, as superstars fall prey to a rash of arm injuries. But another bunch of wrestle-folk were thrilled this week to welcome bundles of joy into the world as a wave o' babies crashed into the shore! And across the pond, the lads (and lasses? where are the lasses?) of the U.K. prepare to have their own WWE programming launched into the homes and hearts of wrestling fans worldwide via the WWE Network... and not only that, but the world gets a date for the WWE Women's Tournament, also a Network-exclusive! Huzzah! All the more wrestling to watch, and it's all so imminent!
But nothing could be more imminent than this weekend's "Bring Your Mom" indy supercard, presented by FEST Wrestling! Our heroes Daryn and Perry travel down to Gainesville, Florida, pull up some swamp and have a killer conversation with FEST Wrestling Owner/Promoter, Tony Weinbender. Learn everything there is to know about this upstart indy fed in Florida from the horse's mouth! The multi-talented, funny, generous and very 'smart' Mr. Weinbender talks about growing up a wrestling fan, digging old-school NWA in his native Virginia, haunting ECW Arena, and throwing Nitro parties! Our guys also chat with Tony about punk rock and The FEST that gave birth to FEST Wrestling. Last but not least, everyone digs into a heaping helping of this weekend's amazing card, headlined by Su Yung defending her FEST Championship against Sami Callahan! What a conversation with Tony Weinbender, and what an episode we have for you, dear listeners!

Despite all his rage, Billy Corgan buys the NWA! And X-Pac apparently has something for sale, but it's NOT the National Wrestling Alliance! Unfortunately for Mr. Waltman, his detainment at LAX really went south, but not in the air… meanwhile, Mr. Smashing Pumpkins put his money where his mouth is, and looks to rebuild an empire. And look out! Something wicked this way comes, in the form of a blood bride, FEST Wrestling Champion Su Yung. The undead Champion talks to our boys about her career, growing up a wrestling fan in the territory era, and how some of her attitude surely came from being such a fan of the Attitude Era. The conversation with Su Yung comes all the way to the present as she shares her feelings on facing Sami Callahan at FEST Wrestling's fast-approaching supershow, "Bring Your Mom!" This jam-packed episode of wrestletalk concludes with the results of the Head-to-Head for WWE Payback, taking a look at the matches between Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens, and so many more, including Jeff Hardy's teeth versus Sheamus's boot!

There's "Pandemonium" in the air this week on the only wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle… and not just because our heroes Daryn and Perry are discussing a Vince McMahon movie! There are also ants in the pants of superstars all over the place. Follow the bouncing Crazzy Steve, Lio Rush, Chris Atkins, Adam Cole, Low-Ki, Scott Steiner and others as the ol' contract negotiation machine rips and roars and sends folks to all sorts of new wrestling grounds! Also news of Fifi's car wreck and Mauro Ranallo's fate... And our heroes couldn't possibly be staring down the barrel of a WWE PPV and not be going Head-to-Head! The boys make their predictions for the RAW-exclusive (sort of) pay-per-view (sort of) "Payback," so pull up your ears to a smorgasbord of pre-show analysis and a bushel of bold picks. This card has Hardy Boyz, A Double, Good Brothers AND a "House of Horrors" match between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. What more could you ask for... don't answer that. Just listen! Oh, and #freericochet

EPISODE #031 - SUPERSTAR SHAKEUP LOOSE ENDS/WE WERE THERE: NXT GAINESVILLE
Friday Apr 21, 2017
Friday Apr 21, 2017
The Superstar Shakeup still has our heroes Daryn and Perry reeling this week, and they are here to tell you how blurring a brand SPLIT this early is just plain nonsense. If it's "broken," you buy it! Apparently the WWE is making moves to acquire all the legal puzzle pieces to have the Broken Hardys on WWE programming! And also this week, the boys tell you all about a fresh crop of wrestlefolk emanating from that performance center down in central Florida, as a "We Were There" segment tackles NXT Live: Gainesville!

This news-heavy week becomes a response-heavy week as our heroes Daryn and Perry tackle secret marriages, contract rejections, mayoral races, concussions and hematomas! Dean Ambrose, Renee Young, Alberto Del Rio, Kane, Finn Balor, Kazuchika Okada and Katsuyori Shibata are your headline makers for this week in the wild world of pro-wrestling. Oh, and JBL. As JBL and news of his sick, sad behavior crowded the ticker this week, it became more and more essential for this podcast to address the heavy and disturbing circumstances surrounding the media explosion about bullying, as perpetrated by the former World Champion turned commentator. So, equipped with the best knowledge available, Daryn and Perry dig into this hot-button issue, naming names and pulling no punches. The incredibly unsettling behaviors of bullying and hazing in general are discussed by the boys, with a focus on the outrageous and mind-blowing understanding that this practice is allowed, condoned and possibly even encouraged in a billion-dollar, publicly-traded corporation, well into the 21st-century. Dear listeners, all of the allegations of sexual assault, mistreatment of employees with mental conditions, and decades of abuse disguised as fraternal "ribbing" are broken down into the essential facts of perversity and criminal activity. As you might imagine, we are calling this one right down the middle.
The second half of the show luckily does have a much lighter tone! This week's WWE Superstar Shakeup made massive changes to the landscape of the great wrestling monopoly. Big names, including champions, jumped from RAW to Smackdown Live and vice versa, and suddenly 2017 looks like a very different year in the WWE. Our guys discuss every roster change and what it may mean for the brands, the championships, the careers of individuals, and the booking, and it ain't pretty! Don't miss this landmark episode!

This is the ONLY place to hear WrestleMania 33 coverage that is called right down the middle! Our heroes Daryn and Perry were in Orlando in an effort to experience the "Ultimate Thrill Ride," and they definitely did. But before they break down the WrestleMania weekend that was, brace yourself, dear listeners, for a rundown of everyone that is coming and going from other companies, those shifting from brand to brand and those that may be leaving the business forever! This week's headlines are as wild as what went down in the Citrus Bowl on Sunday April 2nd! The guys first break down the head-to-head results from NXT Takeover: Orlando, discussing the rise of Aleister Black and Ruby Riot and the apparent departure of Shinsuke Nakamura! And then it's time for our heroes to discuss the "Showcase of the Immortals," in a "We Were There" segment, because they were there! They were there for 9 hours of WrestleMania. They were there for a ring full of maggots, a gigantic tricycle with an iron cross on it, far too many Final Fantasy references, a return of epically "broken" proportions, and the last ride of The Undertaker... any way you slice it, the retirement match of The Undertaker was a bittersweet trip to Niagara Falls, but know that our guys would have rather been nowhere else than there in the purple haze and lightning watching The Deadman dissapear before their very eyes. It was the "Ultimate Thrill Ride." Won't you come along for the ride?

And that includes you! But before you spend $40 for a photo-op with your favorite performer from yesteryear, before you watch indy darlings lock-up and tangle from daybreak to dusk, before you strap in at the artist formerly known as the Citrus Bowl for 6+ hours of showcasing the immortals, sit right back and hear a tale of NXT Takeover: Orlando & WrestleMania 33, as the boys go head-to-head and make their picks for these supercards the only way they know how: by calling it right down the middle!

The granddaddy of them all is nearly upon us! A mega-card begins to coalesce! O-Town beckons us thither! Can our heroes Daryn and Perry maintain their always-canny poise, or will they too soon fall victim to the siren song of hysteria... of MANIA!? Following a glut of news from all over the wrestling world, most of a rather unsettling nature, our boys discuss the traffic on that road to WrestleMania, even coming to a compromise on what to call the segment... or do they? And in a rapid-turnaround edition of 'We Were There,' the guys talk about an absolutely stacked NXT card that took place in Gainesville, Florida just last week!

The 'Road to Wrestlemania' is a cruel mistress... it makes the bookers' heads swim mad with power. It makes the viewers shiver with antici... pation! It's a long and winding road, but our heroes Daryn and Perry are a brotherhood of traveling pants, and they have their road beers at hand, prepared to deliver the best wrestletalk in the land! The boys cover all the minutiae that is the week in WWE programming, all the while bickering over whether to call the segment the "Wrestlemania Round-Up" or "Drive-By." And then they "Take You Back" to Wrestlemania 8 for a blow by blow account of that supercard from pillar to post, from Ric Flair's 'bloody cockatiel' to Rick Martel's 'arrogance,' from Sensational Sherri's 'boy toy' to the curses of Sid Justice! Hold on to your butts!
